Tractor-Trailer Fire Highway 74

Stallings cleared a motor vehicle collision and responded to a reported debris fire on Highway 74. Upon arrival, Engine 202 found a tractor-trailer carrying compressed cardboard and other recyclables on fire. Matthews Fire Dept was requested due to incident being in their area. Crews began suppression and offloading of materials with assistance from DOT. Stallings units were on scene approximately 6 hours assisting in suppression before being cleared by Matthews command. Fire was contained to the bed only and tractor was not affected.
